Recently Hootsuite published information on Instagram that users of Instagram may find interesting starting with stats based on Pew Research Center's most recent finding to include:
37% of adults in the U.S. use Instagram, only 8% over the age of 65 compared with 46% on Facebook and 11% on Linkedin.
43% of the women in the U.S. use Instagram, compared with 31% men with 62% of new
U.S. users identifying as female, only 38% male.
Instagram is most popular with Hispanic adults (51%) followed by Black (40%) and White (33%) adults.
A majority live in urban areas (46%), 43% are college graduates.
As to user to interests - travel (45%), music (44%), and food and drink (43%). (Facebook)
And finally, across 13 markets surveyed by IPSOS, users don't just follow a business for pretty
pictures, the majority of people want to see brands post fun (55%) real (53%), and

One more note. 25 to 34 year olds represent the largest advertising audience, followed closely
by 18 to 24 year-olds.
