From MediaPost's Online Video Insider Mike Sullivan reported the new research from Nielsen revealed that during April 2011, Americans streamed 14.7 billion videos, a record for the most streams in a month. In addition, non-premium video site YouTube's usage was at an all-time high in April 2011, with viewers watching 8.7 billion streams, up seven percent from the previous month.
This presents an opportunity to step up your investment in online video and here are two areas I see with the greatest opportunity to increase audience reach at a very reasonable cost: (1) post conference education and awareness with all the content generated at conferences being re-purposed and carried out into the audience to seed the Web, increasing page rankings for the presenters, sponsoring organizations, and the host organization and (2) thought leadership marketing putting your thinkers and visionaries out front speaking using a medium much more motivating and inspiring than text.
